Psychology<\/strong> was introduced to the Sixth Form of Kamuzu Academy<\/a> in 2019.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Lower Sixth course (Advanced Subsidiary) consists in an introduction to research methods and the detailed study of twelve experiments and case studies, which illustrate the Biological<\/strong>, Cognitive<\/strong>, Learning<\/strong> and Social<\/strong> approaches to Psychology.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Upper Sixth course (Advanced Level) allows study in depth. Pupils specialise in\u00a0two<\/strong> of the following areas: Psychology and Abnormality<\/strong>, the Psychology of Consumer Behaviour<\/strong>, Psychology and Health<\/strong>, and Psychology and Organisations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The debate between\u00a0Nature<\/strong> and Nurture<\/strong> is a recurrent theme throughout the course.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Psychology Department seeks to complement its programme with a number of co-curricular activities of specific relevance to Psychology in Malawi<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Some of these (such as exchange with the St. John of God Hospitaller Services<\/strong> in Lilongwe and Mzuzu) are pending. Others, such as the Experimental Psychology Prize, are current.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\"psychology_01\"\n
