WashBetter is a small NGO that promotes sanitation in schools and orphanages in Malawi.

Mr. Peter Phiri helped friends in the United States of America to establish WashWell in Malawi. When they withdrew from the project, he chose to continue the work independently as WashBetter. It has been operating under this name since 2020.

WashBetter operates on a limited budget and is directly accountable to donors. It provides pails, soap and a short workshop on basic sanitation to participating institutions.

WashBetter is looking for more projects in this time of ongoing pandemic. Existing work has taken place in Lilongwe and Mtunthama (Kasungu District).

Click here (JustGiving) to make a donation through the Shakespeare Schools Festival - Malawi. A proportion of any income derived from our (virtual) Fourth Festival will fund a WashBetter programme at participating schools.
